St. Matthew - Roakes Notes:
Two teams full of friends gathered on Saturday Morning for a classic St. Matthew Basketball game. Coach Balbirnie had his team well prepared for the matchup with Coach Roakes. Despite the final score, the game was a see-saw affair and was tied as late as the fourth quarter. Late free throws allowed the final margin to distort truly how close the game was.

For Team Roakes, Tyler Jensen played his best game of the season and connected on 7 of 8 from the field, including 3 three-point buckets. Eddie Hanlon was a beast on the boards and recorded 13 rebounds. Mark Pollack overcame sickness to record a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Ryan Melcher played team basketball and helped in many different ways.

Trey Kendrick led Team Balbirnie with 14 points. Josh Levi recorded 3 valuable baskets for his team.

The game went back and forth with both teams having successful runs. In the end, the defense for Roakes created enough turnovers to lead to the win.

These two solid recreational league teams worked hard and gave a packed house of fans their moneys worth on a Saturday morning

Team Roakes wishes Team Balbirnie the best of luck the remainder of the season.
