St. Matthew - Roakes Notes:
Following their 2005-06 undefeated regular seasons, St. Patrick Rohrbach and St. Matthew Roakes were given the honor of kicking off the 2006-07 IFBL 6th Grade Boys season.

After an opening prayer led by Chris Clare, the two teams tipped off the season. Hard nosed defense and an all out effort led to a very close first half. St. Matt's Wildcats went on a 15-3 run in the 3rd quarter to pull away with a victory.

All 10 St Matthew Wildcats scored at least one field goal with Mark Pollack leading all scorers with 14. Will Johson had a huge rebounding day with 14 boards and Chris Clare dished out 5 assists. Ryan Melcher gave a strong effort on both ends of the court. The defense was led by Tyler Jensen, Eddie Hanlon, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Mark Beno, Adam Arenas and Sam Deenstadt, All ten St Matt's players played between 15-17 minutes each.

The Holy Trinity Middle School bleachers were packed with many of each teams classmates from Holy Trinity. A strong representation of parents and grandparents made it out to cheer on both of these basketball teams.

Ross Groome played a very strong game for St, Patrick and provided strong rebounding for his team. Tyler Rohrbach played a good game and handled the point for St. Pats. Tom Creasy and the remainder of the team gave a great effort.

The Wildcats wish St. Pat's the best of luck for another strong season of basketball.
