St. Matthew - Brady Notes:
The Saints prevailed again this week in another hard fought game that wasn't decided until the final buzzer. Scott Tezza broke a 14-14 tie with about a minute to go with a dramatic shot from the side. Scott was fouled on the play and he made the important free throw to put the Saints up by three. For the game, Scott had 4 points, 3 rebounds and a number of key steals. Jake Lavender scored 4 points and was the co-leader in rebounds with 5. Jake is this week's Ice Cream Rebounding winner, the fifth different winner in 6 games. Christian Chapman was the other rebounding co-leader with 5. Christian also had 4 points. Conor Brady continued his sharp shooting, firing two 'daggers' in the second half. For the game, Conor had 4 points and 3 rebounds. Drew Tomich and Quinn Mulligan each had a rebound. Hudson Hooker continued his excellent play under the basket snaring 4 rebounds. Hudson's play continues to improve weekly. Joey Linus played his trademark tenacious defense and grabbed one rebound. Drew Markiewicz gave his best effort on both ends of the court.At 5-1, the Saints guaranteed themselves at least a share of the division lead with the playoffs approaching in February.
