Team Summaries St. Matthew - Brady Notes:
The Saint Matthew Saints won again with the best team effort of the season. Scoring and rebounding duties were fairly evenly distributed and all the boys played the kind of hustling defense that wins games. Matthew Curtin has never been out-rebounded in a game he has played in. Today he kept his streak alive grabbing 6 rebounds. Scottie Tezza wins this week's Ice Cream rebounding award however by grabbing 6 rebounds while also being the co-leader in scoring with six points. Scottie did his usual great job of protecting and distributing the ball effectively. He was a hawk again on defense. Jake Lavendar continued his strong play, tieing for the lead in scoring with 6 points while grabbing 3 rebounds. On defense, Joey Linus was put on St. Ann's leading scorer in the second half and did a great job of moving his feet and limiting quality shots and points. Hudson Hooker found his offense today taking quality shots down low, scoring his first basket of the year! Drew Markiewicz continues to develop his game as does Quinn Mulligan, who scored 2 points while grabbing a rebound. Both played solid defense and hustled. Drew Tomich continued his scoring streak, scoring in every game this year. He had 2 points today and grabbed a rebound. Christian Chapman was his old dominating self on defense and continued his scoring streak in every game, scoring 2 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. The Saints are improving every game and are really playing like a team. Next up: Christmas!. Merry Christmas everyone...may it be a blessed one for us all.
