| Team Summaries | St. Gabriel - Wood Notes: SG-W got off to another slow start, falling behind 11-2 early but closed to within 1 at the end of the half. SG-P forced a good number of turnovers but only 1 or 2 lead to fast break opportunities and SG-W did a good job of rotating back but the lost scoring opportunities were costly. SG-P forged a 50-46 lead with under a minute when Wood hit a long 3-pointer to cut it to 1. SG-W fouled and SG-P missed both free throws and SG-W got possession and worked to break the press. SG-W tried desparately to call timeout and the ref did not give them one letting 8 seconds tick off the clock before a tie up with SG-P getting the ball back with 3.1 seconds; however, they threw it away giving SG-W one last try but George's shot was just a little off to the right as the buzzer sounded. In the end, SG-W could not overcome the turnovers and the number of missed point blank shots. This was a very exciting and tightly contested game between 2 evenly matched teams as neither team lead by more than 4 points after the first quarter St. Gabriel - Pasch Notes: |
