Description
The Menlo Park Recreation Department offers an excellent after-school volleyball program open to all Hillview students regardless of previous experience. Mandatory Workouts for team placement will occur in the Hillview Multi, Monday, September 12. Specific times for your grade level workout will be 3:15-4:35 (6th graders), 4:45-6:05 (7th graders), 6:15-7:15 (8th graders). League games begin week of Sept 19. Please note any conflicts such as days/times your child/children won’t able to practice on your registration. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but cannot guarantee it. Once teams are selected, changes cannot be made. Players are expected to attend practices/games regularly. Tournament Team: 8th grade girls interested in being considered for additional competitive volleyball are invited to tryout for our Tournament Team. There will be additional fees and additional commitments for Tournament Team play. Tryouts for the tournament team will be Thurs/Fri Sept 1/2 after school from 3:00-5:00. Unless otherwise noted those trying out are expected to attend both tournament team tryouts. To tryout for the tournament team you must be registered for Burgess League before Tournament Team tryouts begin and one parent per family must attend information meeting evening of first tryout. Tournament Team will be scheduled to play in tournaments/exhibition matches. Online Registration must be completed before attending Tournament Team tryouts. No previous experience is necessary. A coaching clinic will be provided for all coaches. Registration Fee Registration fee is $168.00 per participant. The registration fee is not refundable once the season begins. Scholarships Scholarships are available. To request a scholarship, please contact a school counselor.
