This game would decide which team goes into the state playoffs, and which team stays home. Unfortunately, one of these teams would stay home because they are both really good. This was like a first-round playoff game.

Both teams came out hard and moved the ball well, up and down the field. Both teams had some shots, but could not score. Finally, with 18 seconds left in the first quarter, Wenatchee senior Mitchell Parks got open and buried it in the net. Then he took the faceoff, dodged through three players and buried it again with just three seconds left!! Wenatchee was on a roll. Providence did not have an answer, yet. Wenatchee would score three more goals in the second quarter, giving them a commanding lead of 5-0 with five minutes left in the first half. Finally, Providence was able to make a shot as Junior Bryce Hummel drove and scored on a bouncer to the top corner. Four minutes later, Providence defender Luke Morris ran the ball up the field, dodged and score a shot with his long pole. At half time, Wenatchee led 5-2. The third quarter was scrappy, but the bounces were in Providence's favor. Wenatchee had some great opportunities, but could not get it in the net. Providence fought back with three goals to tie the score 5-5 after three quarters. The tie-breaker finally came four minutes into the fourth quarter by Junior Caleb Moisant. He scored again two minutes later off a strong drive. Providence went on to score ten unanswered goals to win the game 10 - 5. Providence's freshman goalie Cole Butaud made 13 saves, including some amazing stops, to keep his team in this game!!
