Lake Stevens, Wa - A real barn burner to the final whistle! Both teams spent the first quarter getting settled into the game with Providence controlling the ball for most period. Snohomish opened the scoring by a nice goal by Devin Remlinger (Jr. A) from Gabe Girgus (So. A). Providence responded with a goal by Matthew Morris (Fr. A). Snohomish answered with three more goals, two by Girgus and one by Remlinger to finish the half with a 4-1 lead.

Bryce Hummel (Jr. M) scored a goal and Caleb Moisant(Jr. M) added two more in the 3rd for Providence. Brandon Todd (Sr. M) got an unassisted goal with 3:30 left in the 3rd and Paul Albertine (Jr. M) scored on the man-up on a nice feed from Harrison Wartes (Jr. M) 23 seconds later to give Snohomish a 6-4 lead at the end of the 3rd. Todd and Remlinger added a goal each in the 4th giving Snohomish the lead they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the game.

Hayden Thomas (Sr. A), Harrison Hummel(Sr. A), and Moisant rounded out the scoring for Providence.

Snohomish had the ball in its end with 33 seconds remaining in the game, but Providence forced a turnover and quickly called a timeout. Moisant took the ball at midfield, dodged through several Snohomish defenders on his way to the goal only to have time expire before getting a shot off.

It was a great game by both teams. Boys on both sides demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and we'll have a rematch next Friday night at Glacier Peak High School.

Providence Notes:
It was a wonderful game of lacrosse!! Snohomish ran a very organized and fast game of transition and eventually capitalized on some key errors by Providence. Providence responded with some tough defense, especially by Luke Morris and Chad Hummel. Freshman goalie Cole Butaud had some very nice saves in the first half. Providence finally figured out their offense in the second half and made a close game of it, coming down to a last second shot that dribbled across the goal line just after the final horn!

Nice game, Snohomish!!
